I guess you could say I'm looking for all the help I can get.

At least she doesn't look as bad as this one.
Anyone have any ideas about how to remove paint from a commission plate without destroying the commision plate? We were able to clean the commission plate up using an Emron product! They all look great.
Some surface rust in the engine compartment, rust around the battery box, but thats typical. Not as bad as my TR3. Heater blower is in the back of the car. Oil in the crankcase is fairly clean. Does that mean it was replaced just prior to storage or just prior to sale to me? Engine turns easily.
This whole unit will be replaced with a 1500 Spitfire engine, same block, just bored out a bit more. We will be using a matching spitfire transmission. the front plate of the 948cc engine fits right onto the front of the 1500, so mounting the engine will not be a problem.
This is the left wishbone, notice the slight dent at the right end of the wishbone. It's actually worse when viewed from other angles. The tie rod is worse from other angles also, but even from this angle, you can see that the tie rod is not straight. The left suspension is worse than we originally thought.
The lower wishbone is also bent, and the back leg of the wishbone is actually broken and has a rod welded into place to make it semi-functional. The spring is also bent.
I have received a tierod from a place in Australia, along with NOS Armstrong Shocks! Great find.
While looking at the UK Ebay site, I found a set of chrome clips that cover the joints that join the lower facia to the upper dash. I needed one for the right side so I bought the set. The good news is: they are coming off of a Standard 10 that is being parted out in the UK. So I will also be getting a set of chrome headlight surrounds, front suspension spring and a lower wishbone from the same car.
This is the normal right side suspension.
The "undisturbed" cockpit. Note the JC Whitney turn signal lever. You can see the original sticking out on the right side. When a previous owner painted the car blue, he sprayed everything, including the insrument cluster. Somewhere there are instructions on how to clean bakelite.
I think I need a new headliner...
They are available from KIP Motors.
After removing the carpet and front seats, we got a good look at the transmission, not original...
We think it may be a spitfire, but the area where the serial numbers are located is hidden at this point. The previous owner used a torch to make room for the new transmission.
I'm supposed to sit where? At least there were no butts in the ashtray.
Not the ashtray, this is the black gunk that has to be scrapped off before media blasting. The metal that had this on one side and the undercoating on the other is actually in really good shape. Areas that had no gunk is more likely to need rust repair.
The underside of the car has an accumilation of oil soaked, dried dirt. I will be soaking it soon, and then power washing it.
